About
Like most stories begin, my flair for drawing started at a very young age. My parents cultivated my passion and readily encouraged me, even as I refused to draw anything but giraffes (my favorite animal at the time). But although I've been drawing for the majority of my life, it wasn't until I began drawing dragons that I truly developed my "artistic style."
Dragons have played a large part in my art "career," if you will, leading me on a wild chase to become a better artist while still supporting me each and every step of the way. While high school has been a transformative experience for me, my dragons are always something I can associate myself with, even as I'm redefining the limits of who I can be and what I can achieve.
Over the past year, I've sought to branch out my talents and challenge my normal drawing style. I've started drawing anime, political cartoons, pop surrealism, and more, but that doesn't mean I've stopped drawing dragons. I've never been afraid to draw what I love, and I never will be.
Each of my dragons has a name, a history, a reason. I don't create just for the sake of it; I pour a bit of myself into every dragon I draw, and I believe that is part of what makes them my dragons.
I look back on my art from a few years ago and cringe, but maybe in a few years, I'll do the same for the art I'm creating now. Who knows, to be honest. It's all a matter of perspective.
I hope you enjoy the examples of my dragons that I've listed here. If you want to see more of my art, you can follow me on Instagram or Twitter (@ardentiia).
